Skilled Trades

CR Meyer is proud to be a self-performing general contractor and is signatory to 11 labor organizations.  At any given time, we average 800 to 1500 in the field at project sites throughout the United States,  representing the following trades:

  • Boilermakers
  • Bricklayers
  • Carpenters
  • Cement Masons
  • Electricians
  • Iron Workers
  • Laborers
  • Millwrights
  • Operators
  • Pipefitters
  • Sheet Metal Workers

CR Meyer has some of the most highly respected trades people in our industry.  As a company, we work hard to provide steady, good paying union jobs through self-performing our projects.  We are proud of our business relationships with our union partners and work cooperatively to maintain them.

At CR Meyer, you will be working on some of the largest, most significant projects throughout the United States.  All of our work is focused on the heavy industrial sector:  pulp and paper, large manufacturing, power generation, mining, etc.  From building modifications/upgrades to green field projects, you will be part of something very special at the end of the day.

Safety is also a primary focus for our field operations as well, so much so that we have made it one of our company’s core values – Safety Leadership.  Our goal is simple – we want everyone to go home to their loved ones at the end of the day.  Safety is about more than compliance; it’s about making sure that we incorporate safe work habits into everything we do, every day, everywhere.  Our team of Safety professionals and site leadership has safety as a top priority to ensure that we are meeting that goal.

If a career in the trades is your chosen path, we have an opportunity for you.  Your path can either take you 1) from apprentice to journeyman to foreman/superintendent if you prefer to stay in the field or 2) into a project management position if you decide to move in that direction instead.  Many of our project management professionals have worked their way into that position from the field.

If you are interested in an apprenticeship, we invite you to complete a CR Meyer general application by clicking here.  We will assist you in working with the local union office to get started.

If you are already a Journeyman, Foreman or Superintendent with your local union and are interested in employment with CR Meyer, please complete a general application by clicking here and let us know what you are looking for.

Either way, there is a great career waiting for you at CR Meyer!

Please let your team know they did a great job with this project and their approach to taking the task on was recognized as World Class.
